On the Nose: The Other ADLs

In this episode of Jewish Current’s podcast, Savera Coalition activist Prachi Patankar examines how organizations like the Hindu American Foundation (HAF) and the Asian American Foundation (TAAF) adopt strategies modeled on the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

Founded in 2003 by Indian Americans tied to Hindutva (Hindu supremacist) movements, HAF mirrors the ADL’s approach of linking anti-discrimination efforts to ethnonationalist causes—lobbying for Hindu nationalism under the guise of defending Hindu American rights. Prachi explains the “hate crimes” model of anti-racism promoted by these groups, which obscures structural oppression and transnational supremacist ties.
